Ákos Kara is the State Secretary for Infocommunications and Consumer Protection, at the Ministry of National Development in Hungary since 2014. Prior to his role, he served as a Vice-President with a Social Mandate, Győr-Moson-Sopron County Government for three years. Between 2010 and 2014, he has been Member of Parliament, with appointments as Vice-President of the Committee on Employment and Labour, member of the Subcommittee on Rehabilitation, and member of the Committee on the Budget. Before that, he worked for 5 years as a Presidential Chief of Cabinet, Győr-Moson-Sopron County Council, followed by a 4 years appointment as a Vice-President of the County Council, Győr-Moson-Sopron County Government.
He is a graduate of the Budapest University of Economic Sciences and Public Administration, where he specialized in Human Resources Management. He is also occasionally a lecturer in social training (adult vocational training and formal training), and a regular guest speaker at industry events.
